“I feel beyond blessed to have been given the opportunity to sit down with Jake and Jordan and share my story. I’ll admit, I was super nervous to rip open those wounds I’ve been trying to heal, but I knew that by doing so, something special was going to happen. They listened intently to every word of my story. There was an immediate connection and they both made me feel like it was ok to open up and be vulnerable. I think the best songs usually come from the deepest pain, and sharing my pain with them ended up being therapeutic for me. The past couple years have been a journey for me - and not necessarily a good one. These guys respected not only the story of my dad and uncle, but also of my recovery. They took my pain and created something tangible for me to have for the rest of my life. What that means to me is something I’m not sure I can put into words. I am so glad that I allowed myself to feel every feeling so that they could emulate that in this song. What they created is beautiful, personal, and straight up magical to me. Jake - when you talk about how special this song is to you - I really feel that and I thank you so much for that. Thank you for helping me on my journey to healing, you both are incredibly special to me and I could never thank you enough.
